Who is Jesse Huseth?

Jesse is a lifelong Memphian who attended school here from preschool through college, attending the University of Memphis. He built his career, started a business, and met his wife in the city. Now, he and his wife are raising their two daughters in his childhood home in District 97. Jesse’s deep connection to the city stems from his work as a teacher and his volunteering in the public school system.

Jesse’s years working with Shelby County Schools have deepened his understanding of the challenges students face and the hopes parents hold for their children. Every parent wants their child to have a chance at success and happiness—opportunities that every child truly deserves. However, to turn this hope into reality, our local governments, from the county to the state, must prioritize budgets and policies that genuinely support Memphis residents. Jesse is wholeheartedly dedicated to advocating for these changes and recognizes the importance of fostering a brighter future for our community.

I’m dedicated to providing real solutions to real problems for my fellow citizens. Too often our politicians look for ways to divide us, from whataboutism to cultural warfare, instead of focusing on the real issues that we face, and the real solutions we should implement—many of which we actually agree on.

Everyone agrees we need better, more affordable healthcare, quality public education with better outcomes, safer communities, and to be able to make enough to put food on the table with money to spare.
